About me & my approach

Down to earth and approachable, my background is in communication and I worked for the Government in marketing, media relations and strategic roles for 13 years before deciding to train as a life and career coach in 2002.

Although I liked my work I didn’t feel inspired by it but now I do. I get a fantastic buzz from seeing people move forward and live the life they want, rather than one that can all too often be driven by fears.

My clients say that I’m intuitive and warm and I’m quick to use humour (when it’s appropriate!). When I first thought about being a coach I was worried about it being too “tree hugging” for me (I grew up in Stoke and people don’t do tree hugging there…..) Then I realised when I was completing my coaching certification course that it’s possible to bring my own style to coaching, so that’s what I do.

As well as running my own coaching practice I'm a joint director of communications for a Government agency, so I understand the issues clients face in busy roles. I have also worked as a career development adviser to communicators in Government and have chaired assessment centres, which means I know what interviewers are looking for too.

As an associate of the National School of Government, I coach women leaders who want to be promoted to the most senior roles. As well as being a Certified Professional Co-active Coach, I'm also accredited as a professional coach by the International Coach Federation.

I’m a graduate and a qualified teacher and I live in Twickenham, West London.
