About me & my approach

Down to earth and approachable, my background is in communication and I worked for the Government in marketing, media relations and strategic roles for 13 years before deciding to train as a life and career coach in 2002.

Although I liked my work in communication, I felt something was missing so I saw a coach and got clear about what it was. And now, working as a coach myself, it's always great to see people making discoveries about themselves, then moving forward and living the life they want, instead of potentially being held back by fears.

My clients say that I’m intuitive and warm and I’m quick to use humour (when it’s appropriate!). When I first thought about being a coach I was worried about it being too “tree hugging” for me (I grew up in Stoke and people don’t do tree hugging there…..) Then I realised when I was completing my coaching certification course that it’s possible to bring my own style to coaching, so that’s what I do.

As well as running my own coaching practice I'm a joint director of communications for a Government agency, so I understand the issues clients face in busy roles. I have also worked as a career development adviser to communicators in Government and have chaired assessment centres, which means I know what interviewers are looking for too.

As an associate of the National School of Government, I coach women leaders who want to be promoted to the most senior roles. As well as being a Certified Professional Co-active Coach, I'm also accredited as a professional coach by the International Coach Federation

and I train other coaches to use the Firework career change programme.

I enjoy writing and am regularly interviewed for the Jobsite website, as well as having articles published on the site and have also contributed to articles in Red, Marie Claire, Essentials and Woman's Own.

I’m a graduate and a qualified teacher and I live in Twickenham, West London.

I’m a Certified Professional Co-active Coach with eight years' experience of coaching.

Co-active coaching is the brand of the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). The quality of CTI’s training is highly respected and its founders were among the first people to establish coaching as a profession.
